History

Under the leadership of Pastor Lyndel Hix, Berryville Baptist Church was founded in 1985 as a mission out of the Open Door Baptist Church in Harrison AR, pastored by Bro. Howard Braymer. God soon blessed with the purchase of the former Assembly of God church building. After a fruitful ministry, Bro. Hix resigned to pastor a church in Sweetwater, TX. Bro. Kent York was then called as pastor, and he also had a good ministry before becoming an evangelist. God has greatly blessed him in this new ministry. Mark Carter then served for about eighteen months before being called to pastor in Des Moines, IA. Bro. Carter was followed by Bro. Eric Goodman, who served God in Berryville for over three years. Berryville Baptist invited Bro. Derryl DeShields to become pastor in February, and his first official Sunday was February, 19, 2006.
